This calendar is a collaboration between two women in their 60's who have known each other and appreciated each other's work for over 30 years. The photographs by Jane English are previously unpublished color images of nature that Jane made during those years. Complementing the photographs are words of wisdom drawn from books by Angeles Arrien. Together with the symbols, may these words and images inspire you to "walk the mystical path with practical feet" during the year 2009.

About Angeles Arrien
Award-winning author, anthropologist, educator and consultant Angeles Arrien has focused her work on the values and beliefs shared by humanity cross-culturally as well as applying multicultural wisdom into contemporary settings. Dr. Arrien lectures internationally and conducts workshops that integrate cultural anthropology, psychology and comparative religions. She is the author of six books, including The Four-Fold Way, and The Second Half of Life, Winner of the 2007 Nautilus Award for Best Book on Ageing. About Jane English
Jane English holds a PhD in experimental sub-atomic particle physics. She left the world of science to focus on photography and writing. She created with Gia-fu Feng the best-selling edition of the Chinese classic Tao Te Ching, as well as the soon-to-be re-released companion volume Chuang Tsu's Inner Chapters. She founded Earth Heart publishing in 1985, and has since produced many books and calendars with Amber Lotus, including the book Mount Shasta Reflections and the Yankee Wisdom 2009 Calendar.
